Standing on God’s Word … For Prosperity
Standing on God’s Word … For Prosperity
Prosperity is a Bible Word. It goes beyond money and is intended to affect every area of life – spirit, soul and body; emotionally, financially, socially and relationally. Religious tradition, however, has advanced a negative narrative concerning money, wealth and riches and the place of financial success in the life of a believer. The Word, which is the plumb line for defining Truth, paints a very different picture…
3 John 2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].
Right believing leads to right living. When your soul (your mind, will and emotions) is focused on the things of God, prosperity will take its rightful place in your life.
Psalm 35:27 (NASB)
27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; And let them say continually, “The Lord be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
God is not just “okay” with you being prosperous – it gives Him pleasure when you prosper!
Deuteronomy 8:18 (GNT)
18 Remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the power to become rich. He does this because he is still faithful today to the covenant that he made with your ancestors.
Bible prosperity always recognizes God as its source.
Psalm 112:1, 3 (GNT)
1 Praise the Lord! Happy is the person who honors the Lord, who takes pleasure in obeying his commands.
3 His family will be wealthy and rich, and he will be prosperous forever.
Godly riches and wealth belong to those who will honor Him by following His Word. Find out what the Word says, do it, and you are positioned for Bible prosperity.
Proverbs 10:22 (AMPC)
22 The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].
Worldly wealth comes through human effort and takes much care to maintain. Wealth that comes from God is accompanied with a peace and joy that comes in trusting God and not in the riches themselves.
Genesis 12:2 (AMPC)
2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you… and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].
God is speaking to Abraham in this scripture. As a believer you are the seed of Abraham (Galatians 3). Therefore, God’s promise to Abraham is His promise to you. The ultimate purpose of prosperity is so you can be a blessing to others. As they see your giving spirit, they will be drawn to the One who gave His life for them.
True prosperity is a channel not a reservoir. Its satisfaction comes not from having, but from giving.
