Standing on God’s Word for Healing

Standing on God’s Word for Healing

Healing is a part of the salvation “package.” The primary Greek word for salvation in the New Testament is “soteria”. According to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament words it means “rescue, or safety; deliver, health, salvation, save…”; hence, the term “package.”  Sickness is a part of the curse and believers have been redeemed from the curse (Gal. 3:13). The outline below will help you learn to stand against attacks on your body and receive the healing Jesus died to give you.  Take time to look up the scripture references – one great minister of the gospel once said that when you confess the Word you are taking a “gos-pill”.

  1. Make God’s Word the final authority in your situation.
Receive your healing as already having taken place. Believe God will do what He says in His Word. (I Peter 2:24, Jeremiah 1:12)
  2. Refuse to believe what you see and feel.
Keep your eyes on God’s Word and off symptoms.  Focus on what God is bringing  you to, not what you are going through. (2 Corinthians 5:7, Hebrews 6:12)
  3. Refuse doubt and unbelief.
Mark the package of doubt and unbelief the devil tries to deliver to your mind – “Return to Sender, Unopened.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
  4. Concentrate on God’s Word.
Keep your mind fixed on God’s promises. (Proverbs 4:20-22)
  5. Cast your care upon the Lord.
Don’t let the devil use anxiety to choke off the Word.  Give that anxiety to the Lord. (Mark 4:19, I Peter 5:7)
  6. Praise God for your healing.
Praising God before you see a manifestation is the highest form of faith.  Thank God every day that you healed. (Romans 4:19,20, Psalm 103:2,3)
  7. Don’t waver.
Faith and fear cannot exist together. One is of God, the other, the devil. (James 1:6-8)
  8. Never give up! Continue to believe your have received your healing no matter how bad things may look. (Ephesians 6:13, 14)
  9. Surround yourself with the promises of God.
Listen to good healing tapes from men and women who teach the uncompromising Word.  Your faith will grow as you do. (Romans 10:17
  10. Confess the Word continually.
Let God, the devil and your body know that you believe God’s Word. (Mark 11:23, 24)

 Confession

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Word that says that by the stripes of Jesus I was healed.  I choose this day to believe that Your healing power went to work in my body the instant that hands were laid on me (or the moment I believed Your Word).

The gospel that I have heard is the power of God unto my salvation.  I confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord over my life – spirit, soul and body.  I have received the power of God to save me, deliver me, heal me and make me whole.
