God Has Never Stopped Giving
God Has Never Stopped Giving
32 He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things? Romans 8:32 (AMPC)
Someone once said, “You can give and not love, but you cannot love and not give.” That tells us God is the biggest giver ever because I John 4:16 says, “God is love.” Many believers don’t have difficulty believing John 3:16, “16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Maybe it is because eternal life is in the future for most people accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. But when it comes to seeing God as a giver in the “here and now”, many believers have a hard time seeing it.
The truth is that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” … and He has never stopped giving. The Word is filled with passages that remind us of all He has given us:
2 Peter 1:3 (GW)
3 God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and for godliness. This power was given to us through knowledge of the One Who called us by His own glory and integrity.
God has given us everything we need for life and godliness – that covers it all!
1 Timothy 6:17-19 (PHILLIPS)
17-19 Tell those who are rich in this present world not to be contemptuous of others, and not to rest the weight of their confidence on the transitory power of wealth but on the living God, Who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment.
God has given us everything – for our enjoyment! (The Message says He “piles on all the riches we could ever manage”).
Those two scriptures don’t leave any room for lack from God’s perspective. So how do we bring the truth of those scriptures from the spirit realm into the natural realm where we live? The Word tells us that we do so by exercising our faith. Sadly, all too many of us draw back thinking, “I don’t have the kind of faith necessary to do that!” Actually, we do, according to Romans 12:3b (ASV): “…God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.” God has given us a “measure of faith” – and it’s His faith! (Gal 2:20 KJV) Is there anything the “faith of God” won’t get for us when we line our lives up with His Word???
It has been said that in Heaven we will find gift-wrapped boxes with our names on them. Inside each box will be some “thing” that God wanted to give us that we never received. Based on scripture a case could actually be made for that idea. It’s time for us as believers to enlarge our vision of our Heavenly Father. He is more than the God Who gave, He is the loving Father Who delights in continually giving good things to His children. The only variable in God’s willingness to give is our willingness to receive.
He that did not hesitate to spare his own Son but gave Him up for us all—can we not trust such a God to give us, with Him, everything else that we can need?
