Concerning Words, Thoughts and Feelings…
Anchor of Hope > Golden Apples > Concerning God’s Purpose for Your Life
Don’t keep bringing up dead issues. Nothing dead ever praises God.
We intentionally release the words “I am” (I am healed, etc.) to bring spiritual reality into our lives.
We intentionally release the words, “I can” to release/bring God’s ability into our situation.
We intentionally release “I will” (do whatever) to put faith into action.
Three purposes of the mouth are:
- to exhort
- to give thanks
- to prophesy our future
When Satan wants to tear you down, he doesn’t start with an act, he starts with a thought.
Sometimes we ask God to help us but we don’t give Him the cooperation He needs to bring it to pass – because of the words coming out of our mouth.
Our thoughts and attitudes can become the devil’s armor – someplace in which he can dwell.
Wrong questions never bring answers, only frustration.
You cannot replace a thought with a thought. You do it by saying. Jesus said, “Takes no thought, saying…”
My mind tells me – what I believe.
My emotions tell me – what I feel.
My will tells me – what I want.
That is why I must live out of my spirit.
God controls the universe with His mouth; He controls the earth with man’s mouth.
Change is evidence of a “renewed” mind.
If your “caring” could have changed anything, things would have already changed.
When Satan wants to tear you down, he doesn’t start with an act, he starts with a thought.
We build our faith habits in thoughts and with our mouths.
There is only one way to receive from both God and from the devil – by the words of your mouth.
The cure for wrong speaking is: 1) repent, 2) rebuke the words spoken, and 3) replace the wrong words with right words.
The thought life is the breeding ground for the power of God or for defeat. Every seed of our future – whether it is a seed for success or a seed for defeat – begins with a thought.
Where the mind goes, the man follows.
You cannot fight the devil with your mouth closed.
The meter of your maturity is your mouth.
We don’t deny our feelings, we deny the right of them to control us.
“I found out a long time ago that when my mouth speaks, my mind has to stop and listen to what it’s saying.”
Our thoughts can become the devil’s armor. When we maintain thoughts of darkness (anything that does not line up with God’s Word), we are giving him something to hide behind. We must change our thoughts to drive him out.
Never speak words that make the enemy think he’s still in control.
You cannot backslide without your mind backsliding first.
Resist the thought, then you don’t have to resist the sin.
A little mindset holds us back because God can only do through us what we believe for. I don’t want to be average because I don’t serve an average God. God is a God of excellence, and I want to follow His example. Low living has a high cost.
Your words are photographs of your thoughts. The moment you express them, you empower them. You also create a climate that affects everything around you.
If you are not saying anything, you are not changing anything.
When you speak out of frustration, you always end up saying the wrong thing.
Thoughts aren’t yours because they come into your mind. They only become yours when you allow them to move in and rearrange the furniture.
Learn to immediately answer every doubt with God’s Word…every fear with God’s Word (by speaking it out).
Our inner life is a house made of thoughts that is constantly under construction.
